Shanghai Innovation Design Competition
with Shanghai Industrial Design Assosication
Guided by Shanghai Economic and Information Commission and Shanghai Modern Service Industry Federation, and hosted by Shanghai Industrial Design Association, the 2021 “Magnolia Awards” Shanghai Design Innovation Product Competition Award Ceremony and Exhibition were successfully held at Bridge 8 – Viseen (Riverside Park). This is the fifth consecutive “Magnolia Awards” Shanghai Design Innovation Product Competition held in Shanghai.
Leaders of relevant urban committees such as Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology, Shanghai Modern Service Industry Federation, Shanghai Design Capital Promotion Center, representatives of teachers and students from various universities, and people from all walks of life in the integrated development of cultural creativity and design services in Shanghai and the Yangtze River Delta and related industries attended the event.
Magnolia Awards, known as the “Shanghai Business Card” in the field of design, is the only competition representing Shanghai’s industrial design industry. So far, it has been successfully held for five consecutive sessions. The event aims to apply the competition as a link to integrate creative design resources and enhance creative design level, build a platform for interactive communication and school-enterprise cooperation, and promote the innovative products of Shanghai design innovation enterprises and independent designers; promote the integrated development of Shanghai and the Yangtze River Delta region, so as to gradually improve the overall strength of the industrial design industry in the Yangtze River Delta, and boost the transformation and upgrading from “Made in China” to “Created in China”.
This competition focuses on “green health”, and has set up six competition categories of “clothing, food, housing, transportation, wellness, and use”. Since its launch in August, a total of design units, design universities and independent designers from all over the country have been collected. There are more than 1,000 works by the teachers. In the end, 119 works were shortlisted, and 42 works won awards, including 18 awards for excellence, 6 awards for best concept design innovation, and 18 awards for best design product innovation.
